NewLife Handyman Services is run by Justin out of Surrey Hills. Since 2023 the team has been fixing, restoring and upgrading homes across Melbourne's inner east, from a sticking door to a full exterior restoration.

Period homes are a big part of the work: timber sashes, iron lace, weatherboards and brickwork. Where it's practical, the original timber is repaired and kept. It keeps the character of your home, cuts waste and usually costs less than starting again.

Yes. Restoration over replacement wherever it's practical. Original sashes are kept when they're structurally sound, rotted timber is repaired or replaced, and the sashes are sanded, primed, re-glazed and finished.

It's double glazing fitted into your existing timber sashes. Each window gets waterproof glazing tape, a waterproof rebate primer, perimeter caulking, a drainage system for trapped moisture and neatly fitted glazing beads. You get warmer rooms and less outside noise while keeping the original windows.

Yes. Pre-sale repairs are a regular job, for example sill and glass replacements, new laundry and garage doors, then everything primed and colour-matched so it presents well.

Yes. Doors and windows can be draft-proofed with draft seals, vents blocked where needed and custom aluminium fly screens made so you can open the windows in summer. A thermal imaging camera is used to find where the drafts are coming from.
